Karnataka's deputy CM D K Shivakumar stated that he has no confirmed reports of deaths and urged calm, noting the program was shortened due to the massive crowd. Police struggled to manage the large number of fans attempting to enter the stadium, despite entry restrictions.

"This tragedy should not have happened. The government expresses deep sorrow over this incident," he added.
