ECI Maharashtra, Jharkhand Election Results 2024 Live Updates: With hours to go for the counting of votes to kick off, all eyes are on the battle between the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the INDIA bloc. While the NDA will look to retain Maharashtra and wrest power in Jharkhand, the INDIA bloc will aim at pulling off an upset by defeating the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, while securing a victory for Hemant Soren in Jharkhand.
What’s happening in Maharashtra? The state had seen the highest turnout of voters in the last three decades, which, both the ruling party and the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi had pegged as a victory for them. According to most exit polls, despite a close contest, the Mahayuti alliance is leading.
What about Jharkhand? In Jharkhand, where the JMM-led alliance is battling the NDA bloc, the turnout was 68.45 per cent. The exit polls, however, have predicted a change in power with the BJP-led coalition ousting Hemant Soren.
